La Biblia de Wycliffe, una de las primeras traducciones inglesas de la Biblia (1382-1395), fue prohibida por la Iglesia. Posteriormente, los restos de John Wiklif fueron desenterrados e incinerados, y las cenizas se arrojaron al río Swift.
